Life
Our Invitation:
To all who are
weary and need rest: to all who are lonely and want friendship; to all who
mourn and need comfort; to all who pray and all who do not, but ought; to
all who sin and need a savior; to all who rejoice and would offer praise;
to all who are blessed and would serve their neighbor; to whoever will
come; Christ Church opens wide the door and says in the name of the Lord
Jesus, "Welcome"

July 18: Christ
Church Camp Out
Join other in your
Christ Church family for an overnight at church! Bring your tent or
your camper to our beautiful backyard on Saturday, July 18, at 4:00pm
and stay overnight. Each family will provide their own dinner but we
will share games, stories, and a campfire together. Our adventure will
end Sunday morning with worship. Please sign up at the back of the
church if this sounds like a great way to spend a summer Saturday
afternoon and evening.
August3-7:
Vacation Bible School
Save the date!
Christ Church will offer Vacation Bible School for all of its children
and tenns during the week of August 3-7. We will spend the week hearing
the story of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat as it appears
in the Book of Genesis. We will bring the story to life through music
and props, scenery and storytelling. On Saturday evening, August 8, our
participants will present the tale for you.
There is a sign-up
sheet at the back of the church. Please feel free to invite friends and
neighbors to join us.
During the week of
July 27, there will be opportunities for adults help us to prepare by
designing and painting scenery. Please watch for further notice.

bring flowers out to our homebound or ill parishioners on Sundays after

with the members of the church.
Knitting Club meets twice a month on Tuesday at
6:30 P.M. for fun and fellowship (see calendar for dates). The
group is made up of individuals that knit and crotchet. The group
is currently working on creating Afghans and clothing for those in need along

Discernment Group
Discernment is a spiritual practice of prayer
and discussion, to try to determine how God is moving in our lives. Do
you sometimes feel that God is calling you to a new thing, or
wonder how God is at work in your everyday life and work? Would you
like an opportunity to talk about this and to receive and offer some
guidance, using storytelling, prayer, Scripture, and discussion? If
so, you may be interested in becoming part of a Discernment Group here
at Christ Church! The Rector is interested in starting such a group,
and if you are interested, please let her know, or put your name on the
notice at the back of the church.
Choir
Al Deston, Minister of Music leads the church choir
during the 10am worship service on Sundays. New members are always
welcome in the choir. Choir practice is held Sunday mornings please see our calendar for dates and times.
Stewardship Committee
Our Stewardship Journey
We are about 50% of the way to our goal of $115,000 in pledges
for the year 2008. This is what we estimate needing from pledges and
financial offerings to keep us where we want and need to be to continue
our ministry at Christ Church. This does not include what we
expect to bring in through the Harvest Festival and through interest
from our endowment. Our actual expenses for each year come close to
$200,000, so you can see how significant everyone’s contribution is to
your church. If you have not already filled out a written and signed
pledge form for 2008, please join the Christ Church community in doing
so, and helping to ensure the continuation of our work for the coming
year! Pledge forms can be obtained through the office, or at the
back of the church. Thank you for your wonderful generosity! Don’t
forget – if you would like to have a discussion about the breakdown of
our income and how it is used, don’t hesitate to give Beth or one of the
Wardens a call. You can also find monthly budget statements at the back
of the church or through the office.
