Meet
our Rector
Rev. Beth Grundy
It is my very great privilege to serve as the
Rector of Christ Church, and I also serve as the Dean of the Mt.
Hope/Buzzard’s Bay Deanery, a grouping of twelve Episcopal parishes on
the south coast. I am originally from Foxboro, and have a background in
Women’s History, which I taught before being ordained in 1997. I
attended Andover Newton Theological School in Boston, and the General
Theological Seminary in New York, and my main interests in ministry are
preaching, teaching, community building around faith, and helping
develop lay leaders for the service of the church. My other interests
include reading, tennis, travel, animals, and my family and friends.
I want to welcome you to Christ Church, and to
invite you to join us if you are seeking a spiritual home. We are part
of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, and we have been an active
part of Swansea life since 1846. This is a wonderful and warm community
of people; and today our congregation draws from Swansea and a large
number of neighboring communities. We are dedicated to the mission of
Jesus Christ in this place. We have many ministries here, including
numerous opportunities for outreach and spiritual formation, a wonderful
Sunday worship experience, a terrific choir, and programs for children
and young people to which we are very committed. Services are at 8:00
and 10:00 on Sundays, and the 10:00 service includes music and Sunday
School. Usually, you will also find a lot of us enjoying coffee and
conversation after the services! We would love to welcome you; and I
would also invite you to feel free to call me in the Parish Office at
508-678-0923 if I can be helpful.
Again, a very warm welcome to our church. We are
glad you are here, and hope you will come back!
The Rev. Beth Grundy, Rector
